TIRED OF WAITING
The protracted negotiations which will see Vladimir Romanov take over Hearts has dragged on for months.
Everybody's waiting. The players are waiting on Robbo, he's waiting on the Board, they're waiting on Romanov and he's waiting on SMG. SMG are waiting to be paid back what they are due. Cala are waiting in the wings like vultures and SRU are waiting too. The club's main asset, its fans are also waiting and becoming impatient. Meanwhile the great danger is that the team is on the slide with our top players being lured elsewhere during the transfer window.
Deans apparently sold 10% of his shares to Romanov on condition Robinson was out. Robinson agreed the sale of his 20% but wants to hang on to his position in the SPL. SMG are happy to accept the 35p same price for their shares, so it's down to Romanov negotiating to pay-off the outstanding £4.5m due to SMG. If SMG sit back and do nothing and don't accept anything less than the full amount, they may believe they are no worse off... unless of course Romanov walks away and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.
SMG provided a significant loan to Hearts when it was needed. They want paid back with interest as agreed at the outset and they will walk away. The honourable thing to do is to pay them what they are due .. or is that not the way things are done in Russia?
