Hearts closing in on Liverpool youngsters

Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov today told reporters that they are in the late stages of snapping up Darren Potter(21) and Francis Smith(18). Potter played in all Liverpool's 3 champions league qualifiers this season and is rated at £750,000. Francis Smith is available on a nominal fee after Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez told him he has no future at Anfield.

Meanwhile other Hearts targets are Benfica holding midfielder Bruno Aguiar (24) looks likely to come to Tynecastle on loan until the end of the current campaign. Another Lithuanian internationalist also looks to be heading Gorgie way. 24 times capped Nerijus Barasa, a centreback with Russian side Kryla Sovetov Samara, claims to be joining Hearts in January.
