Jim Jefferies was realistic in his assessment of last night's performance against Celtic. The 4-0 reverse does nothing for the Jambos ambitions to lift the SPL title but perhaps brought some realistic shade to the situation. The good run of games had to end sometime and the ease of how Celtic managed to do that is a lesson for all concerned. Jefferies began his post-game press conference by quipping: "I suppose we will be relegation candidates now," but admitted his side's performance had descended into disarray. Jefferies went on: "The last 20-25 minutes was a shambles and we could have lost more than we did. There were two quality goals and two shockers and that was down to us. We started to think we were clever, pushed offside and got caught with a horrendous third goal. The fourth goal was the icing on the cake, we had the ball in the corner and it should have been in row Z but we got caught and were punished again. We were sloppy, too smart and too clever, but it is unusual because we have been so good in the last 10 or 12 games. It is now about how we bounce back." |
