Michael Stewart celebrated being named the new captain for the club by scoring a goal in Hearts first match of their pre season tour of Germany. He scored a brilliant goal to level the game after the hosts Goslar FC took the lead.
David Obua also netted in a 2-1 victory. The encounter was a bruising affair which will test the Jambos as they prepare for the new season. Gary Glen and debut boy Ian Black both went close to scoring while Goslar could have added to their tally as well.
Csaba Laszlo now looks set to name Stewart as the teams skipper claiming the self confessed Jambo has the attributes needed to lead the side on and off the pitch.
Meanwhile Darren Barr has become a target for Hearts with the Tynecastle outfit ready to make a bid for the defender.
