According to Hearts director Sergejus Fedotovas, the Tynecastle club is not finished it summer shopping and are talking to more transfer targets. Manager Jim Jefferies is ot content with bringing Kevin Kyle and Darren Barr to Gorgie but is not about to close Mr Romanov's cheque book just yet. Jeffries is on holiday at the moment but that does not stop he and Fedotovas talking to each other each day as they prepare for the new season. Fedotovas said: "There has been quite a lot of positive news recently and I'm glad that we have been able to secure the services of these players. It shows that Hearts are a really a good club and players are proud to play for Hearts. It also shows that we are competitive and can attract and sign players. I am speaking to Jim Jefferies every day, he is very positive. Obviously we know the areas that we need to strengthen. We've landed a striker recently and we know that we need to strengthen midfield now. This is a very important signing and we are talking with a couple of very good players at the moment. I hope these discussions will finalise soon and we will be able to land a midfielder hopefully over the next few weeks. Then we will re-address the squad and see if there are other areas we need to strengthen and make a decision." Fedotovas also claimed "different agendas" lay behind former manager Csaba Laszlo's departure from the club at the end of January. He said: "We had to make this change once it was absolutely clear that we had different agendas. There was a long discussion, trying to achieve some sort of agreement, relying perhaps on the professional side of Csaba Laszlo, trying to convince him that we could work together and achieve success, but unfortunately it wasn't possible. There was different agendas for both sides and we had to make this decision for the good of the club." |
