Paulo Sergio was content with the second half showing after failing to show a cutting edge to their play in the opening 45 minutes against Inverness yesterday. The home side broke the deadlock five minutes after the interval when Gregory Tade's angled 12-yard effort hit the net after a mistake from goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald. Callum Elliot managed to save the blushes and repercussions of the long trip home when his late equaliser ensured Hearts claimed a share of the spoils. He managed to get the faintest of touches on a David Templeton cross nine minutes from time which was enough to guide the ball in off the post. Tenth-placed Inverness could have closed the gap on fourth-spotted Hearts to one point if they had held on, but the Edinburgh club might have stolen the win if Andy Webster had connected with a Jamie Hamill corner late on.
Sergio said: "I think we didn't have a great first half. We were good in the first phase of play in terms of passing the ball and creating space, but in the second phase we didn't attack as we wanted. At half-time, I changed a few things around and in the second half I felt we were better. I didn't think they (Inverness) caused us many problems and we had chances to score. However, at times, we weren't well organised when we didn't have the ball."
