Partick Thistle tried to hang onto midfielder Ryan McGowan until the end of the season at the very least. However, Jim Jefferies wanted the Australian back to play a patrt in the first team.
Firhill assistant manager Ian Maxwell said: “We were really keen to keep Ryan here, however Hearts told us that Ryan was going to be used in their first team squad so he had to go back. He had done really well for us and hopefully he can go on and establish himself as a SPL player.”
