Gary Mackay was one of the driving forces behind the Hearts team that got to the league and almost won on May 86. A day that lives long in the Hearts fans memory. He went on to gain a total of 640 league appearances for the Jambos and become a Hearts legend till the late 90s.

These day’s though, Mackay has put so much effort into the protests against Chris Robinson and SMG. He has been a major force in the Save Our Hearts Group and has proved the fans can have a big say in what goes on around Tynecastle.

Mackay has put Robinson under so much pressure in recent years, many were wondering if the former Scotland international was to do the same for the new board. Mackay has stated that “we should all get behind Mr. Romanov”. Even with the constant worry and anxiety around Tynecastle, that’s good enough for Hearts fans.
